Our third year for Build Your Career Forum will take place at the Iowa National Guard on November 18th 2021! Our goal for the Student Trades Initiative is to encourage and provide our area youth information, hands on experiences, and face time with local construction skilled trades industry professionals.  Targeted to 11th and 12th grade students that want to pursue a career in the building trades, this event is kicked off with a keynote from construction leaders in the Quad Cities. Students then break into small groups and are visited by mentors (field experts) to learn more about each specific trade in depth. Sessions include: Building/Remodeling, Inspections, Plumbing, Electrical, Siding & Windows, Masonry/Painting, HVAC, Heavy Equipment, Framing, Interior Design/Architecture. Student learn how each of the industry professionals got started in their field and what their daily work load looks like. We are thrilled to continue with this amazing learning experience for our area youth!
